A True Japanese Traditional Folding Knife With More Than A Century Of History.
In 1897 A Trader Named Tasaburo Shigematsu From Hyogo Prefecture Brought Back A Folding Knife From Kagoshima Prefecture. He Customized That Knife And Created A New Folding Knife. At That Time Most Of His Customers Were From Kumamoto Prefecture So He Named It The Higonokami (Higo Is The Old Name Of Kumamoto Prefecture).
After Century Of Manufacturing In Miki City, Hyogo, Nagao Kanekoma Is The Last Remaining Owner Of The Higonokami Trademark. Currently The 5Th Generation Blacksmiths Is Manufacturing This Traditional Folding Knife.
This Blade Is Non-Locking, You Must Place Your Thumb On The Thumb To Lock. The Label On The Blade Reads "Higonokamisadakanekoma" The Full Name Of This Knife.
